LRN strongly believes in the social impact of bringing people together to give back. That’s why our teams around the world once again joined forces November 28, on #GivingTuesday, to help make a difference in the lives of others. Our colleagues participated in a range of events across their communities.
In New York, for example, LRN employees volunteered time to host a group of students at our offices for an interview skills/resume workshop. The students are from Per Scholas, a program whose mission is to open doors to tech careers for individuals from overlooked communities. LRN has partnered with Per Scholas for years and currently has an internship program specifically for Per Scholas students.
LRN colleagues also headed to Food Bank for NYC, the city’s major hunger relief organization, which distributes more than 74 million pounds of food every year and provides roughly 400,000 free meals per day to New Yorkers in need. Our volunteers prepped and served meals to seniors at the Community Kitchen and Pantry in West Harlem. The New York office also is hosting a winter coat drive for New York Cares, which began on Giving Tuesday and runs through December 31.
In London, our employees spent the day at MS Therapy Centre, The Children’s Society, and Thames Valley Hospice, where they dropped off donations to be sold at its charity shops.
And in Mumbai, we raised money and collected food for Jeevan Aadhar Seva Sanstha, an organization that provides the homeless with health-related intervention and rehabilitation; and The Naam Foundation, which works for the betterment of farmers in drought-prone areas of Maharashtra, India. Colleagues in India also spent time with the children of the Anand Niketan orphanage.
At LRN, our purpose and mission is to help people do the right thing by inspiring principled performance. As we head into the holidays, we’re grateful for the work our employees do, so passionately, every day around the world to make a positive difference.
