Starting as early as 2006, the term #MeToo has led to greater and more prominent conversation around sexual harassment, especially that in the workplace. Since then, there has been increased focus on this issue, which is being reflected in workplace training. Data collected with LRN’s 2019 Program Effectiveness Index (PEI) found:
#MeToo has contributed to purposeful conversations around sexual harassment, and now companies and the government are acting on it.
The National Women’s Law Center cites in its 20 States by 2020 report, “…state legislators have introduced around 200 bills to strengthen protections against workplace harassment in the past two years, and to date, 15 states have passed new protections.” LRN’s 2019 PEI data highlights the diverse methods companies are using to adhere to these increased protections.
When thinking about the intersection of new legislation and the changing landscape of adult learning, it’s important to have comprehensive, values-based training.
